Fort York

Soldiers

Soldiers unlike officers lived in normal rooms but with 16 bunk beds. If one of the soldiers were married they shared a bunk with their wives and their under 13 year olds children normally slept in the other bunk.  The bunks were 2 beds per top bunk and 2 beds per bottom bunk. There were 32 soldiers per room. They were only paid 2 dollars  per day.

Officers

In an officer’s house there were 4 officers per house. The officers were paid the same as soldiers but cam from rich families so they were  very wealthy. They bought all of their furniture themselves. The officers were unmarried. They had a professional chef in their kitchen.

Fort

The fort was guarded by only 6 canons. It was on the water side. The fort was surrounded by dry mots. There were prongs on the fort side of the mots so the only way to get in was to climb so you would get poked because of the prongs.
